Transceivers also allow various stations to receive and transmit data in a network environment. In fact, they work according to the radio station's algorithm. Modern organizations use these devices to connect to a network of computers, converting a stream of some parallel data sent over the computer bus into a data stream that is already sequential. In this form, they can already be transmitted over the cable that connects computers to the network.
Transceivers are very convenient to connect and then use. It is enough to embed them in the network adapter card or mount them on the cable as a separate unit. For example, a GLS-lh-sm transceiver can transmit a signal over optical lines at a distance of five hundred meters to ten kilometers. Moreover, this model has an extended temperature range (plug) of operation. As you can see, it has a lot of advantages. This means that it is currently an ideal solution for building a network.
There are also optical transceivers that convert the signal to the external transport medium from the network device environment (internal electrical). This new feature makes it possible to build a network with data transmission. The optical model is represented by several modules. These are X2, XENPAK, XFP, SFP. They are optimized to work with various data transfer protocols. Such a transceiver can be either built into a network device or removable.


The rapid development of microelectronics is one of the most striking signs of the beginning of the XXI century. It is difficult to name a sphere of human activity that would not be affected by progress in the development of electronic components and ultra-large integrated circuits. Its results include the processes of mutual penetration and integration of previously clearly delineated areas of application of electronic technology. A striking example of such integration is the combination of computer technology, television, mobile telephony, and the Internet in devices called Smart background and Smart TV, where the smart prefix is translated as "smart".
